皆さんご存知、アメリカ国歌です。とある本に、フランス国歌の出だしが書かれてて（Allons enfants de la Patrie, Le jour de gloire est arrivé! 「行け、我が祖国の子供達よ、栄光の日はやって来た！」）、Google したら、外国から侵略の兵達がやって来る前夜に、軍人さんが一夜で作詞作曲した作品が、国歌になったとありました。歌詞を読んでみると、「武器を取れ！」とか、軍歌調丸出し。これがフランス国歌か、とちょっとびっくりしました。
それじゃあ、我がアメリカ国歌はどうかと言うと、こっちも負けていません。こちらは、英米戦争が行なわれていたメリーランド州ボルチモアのマックヘンリー要塞で、フランシス・スコット・キーという人が、停戦後の夜明けに星条旗が翻っているのを見て、その感動を詩にしたものだそうです。確かに、戦争中、生きるか死ぬかという思いをした人が、夜明けにまだ、祖国の国旗が誇らしげに、はためいているのを見たら、こんなに美しい光景は無いと思うでしょう。そういう風な背景を知って読むと、アメリカ国歌「星条旗」、その時の情景が目に浮かぶようで、感動します。
下に、Jennifer Hudsonがスーパーボール開幕 の時に歌った、Youtube のビデオをリンクしときました。彼女は、この時、お母さんが殺されてから初めて、公の場に現れたもので、彼女の感情が読み取れるような、感動シーンです。大抵、国歌斉唱と言っても、一番しか歌われないのですが、ビデオの下に全文、他のウェッブサイトから、コピーしました。それでは、どうぞ、お楽しみください。
